Recruitment Position: Programme Coordinator
AMRC is an independent non-governmental organisation (NGO) which focuses on Asian labour concerns. It works to support a democratic and independent labour movement in Asia, promoting the respect of labour rights, gender equality, and active workers’ participation in work-related issues.
Location: Based in Seoul, with programme locations in Asia (Extensive travel required). Immigration requirements for overseas staff will be arranged by AMRC.
Duration: 2 years with possibility of extension
Salary package: A fair salary negotiable based upon experience and standard benefits according to Korean law is provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and support to the programme partners spread around Asia.
- Facilitate and support country-level processes with partners in different locations within
- Asia.
- Overall coordination of the programme, in accordance with the organisational plan.
- Conducting meetings / workshops / trainings / conferences and events for the projects,
- Facilitating, liaising, communicating, evaluating, following up with all partners and the
- network members to ensure their continued ownership and further develop the network.
- Primary project controller for the implementation of the project, carrying out action research
- and producing analytical reports.
- Write and develop project proposals in accordance with the program and organisational
- plans.
- To regularly assess and report on the program to the staff committee, donors, Board of
- Directors requirement
Requirement:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ NGOs working experience with strong research background.
- Knowledge of Asian labour relations and the labour movement, especially of Asian countries;
- Knowledgeable on issues related to the Occupational, Environmental Health and Safety is preferable ;
- Ability to think critically and politically, and problem-solve with minimal resources;
- Demonstrated commitment to facilitative leadership and democratic management principles;
- Experience in promoting teamwork and working collaboratively in a multicultural context;
- Good written and spoken English communication skills and ability to communicate in one or more Asian languages;
- Experience working effectively with limited budgets and a corresponding ability to draft and implement budgets for regional projects and initiatives;
- Ability to bring together diverse interests across boundaries of race, class, gender, sexuality and nationality in collaborative and creative ways;
