The Asian Network for the Rights of Occupational and Environmental Victims (ANROEV), India Ban Asbestos Network (iBAN) and Occupational and Environmental Health Network India (OEHNI) expresses its deep sadness and outrage at continuing denial of justice to the victims of gas tragedy which took place in Bhopal on 3 December 1984.For 35 years, the victims and their family members have been denied just compensation and rehabilitation.
Global call for action to scientists, doctors, researchers and groups affected by asbestos
An influential group of scientists and researchers today launched a global campaign to counter the misinformation from the asbestos industry, particularly in Asia, about the cancer causing product.

In Indonesia, 1,300 mostly women workers were unfairly dismissed from their factory PT Panarub in 2012 after they went on strike to demand payment of wage arrears and the right to organise.
To date they have not received their severance pay and wage arrears from the Panarub group, and buyers Adidas and Mizuno refuse to admit responsibility and provide support to the workers. The workers' union SBGTS-GSBI continues to demand justice for the workers, and are currently running a campaign against Adidas and Mizuno.
Support the campaign by Hong Kong Conferedation of Trade Unions (HKCTU), Globalization Monitor (GM) and LabourStart to free the labour activists and stop the crackdown on independent labour NGOs.
On 10th July this year, the Cambodian parliament will pass laws which will grossly stifle the rights of ngos and trade unions.As attached are the critical analysis of both the laws;
1. Law on Associations and Non-governmental Organizations (to be passed on 10 July 2015)
2. Trade Union Law (the final draft has not been revealed since last year)
Since the early 2000s, clusters of rare acute interstitial pneumonitis of children were noticed every spring in Korea. The prognosis was quite poor and many of them died. In 2011 April, 7 pregnant women were hospitalized for acute severe respiratory disease of similar nature, and half of them died.
Against all odds, after continues struggle workers of GRSE Kolkata, India, a Shipbuilding CPSE Govt. of India have achieved wage revision from Jan 2012, a Memorandum of Settlement has been signed between the Management of GRSE and the GRSE Workmen’s Union on 25 February 2015 with the retrospective effect from January 2012.
Workers in Trexta Company in Turkey are forced to work long hours, without sufficient health and safety measures and workers can not get their legal right of severance pay. Between August and 12 November 2011 members and on 15 February 2012, 3 union members were dismissed because of their union work and membership. Other workers have been known to receive warnings by management not to join the union.
