In Indonesia, 1,300 mostly women workers were unfairly dismissed from their factory PT Panarub in 2012 after they went on strike to demand payment of wage arrears and the right to organise.
To date they have not received their severance pay and wage arrears from the Panarub group, and buyers Adidas and Mizuno refuse to admit responsibility and provide support to the workers. The workers' union SBGTS-GSBI continues to demand justice for the workers, and are currently running a campaign against Adidas and Mizuno.

Subject: DEMANDS TO RESOLVE THE UNFAIR DISMISSAL OF 1,300 WORKERS OF PT. PANARUB DWIKARYA
Dear Mr. HARRY NURMANSYAH, Adidas Group Rep.Office in Jakarta-Indonesia, and Mr. WILLIAM ANDERSON, Asia-Pacific Office of Adidas Group in Hong Kong
(name of your organisation) located in (Address/location of your organisation) sends this letter to you to support the workers’ struggle against PT. Panarub Dwikarya, a struggle that has lasted over 3 years until today.
Through this letter, we remind the Adidas Group, that until present, your business partner Panarub Group has not solved the unfair dismissal of 1,300 workers in July 2012. Although the workers are surviving, they have nothing, as their rights have been violated by the Panarub Group, who have not given them their due wages and compensation. Panarub Dwikarya Benua (PDKB) has not operated since 2013, but it does not mean that PT. Panarub Group, as the parent Company of PDKB, is not responsible to fulfil the rights and provide compensation to the 1,300 surviving workers of PDKB.
The Adidas Group as a buyer and business partner of PT. Panarub Group has not been taking this case seriously, resulting in a long delay to provide a fair solution for the 1,300 PDKB workers. This shows that Adidas does not respect the labour rights of the workers who produce Adidas products. In our view, Adidas is responsible to resolve the unfair dismissal of the 1,300 PDKB workers.
On the description above, and the long drawn out case of unfair dismissals of 1,300 PDKB workers that has been running for more than 3 years, we demand that the Adidas Group immediately:
Accordingly, we hope the Adidas Group give serious attention to resolve the unfair dismissal of the 1,300 PDKB workers, respect labour rights, whether in the name of humanity or as a form of corporate social responsibility that Adidas Group embraces as an international company.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
Best Regards,
(the name of your organisation)
